| This is the set up for finally attaching the leather to the dang book. It is crazy town; you have to have all this stuff ready so that the insanity is reduced once you actually get stuck in. I didn't get any pictures of the actual process because um I was very busy at the time. You glue a gluetrastrophy of glue onto the leather and then put it on your book and then spend the next like 30-40 minutes MASSAGING it into the way you want it You have to make sure everything is smooth andn wonderful and it stretches naturally so you have to make sure it doesn't stretch too much and you have to fold it over the edge of the spine which is when I thought I was going to KILL A MAN because it is so weirdly hard and stressful, and you have to do all the shaping at the head and tail which I never really had a good idea in my head of what it was supposed to look like so I was sort of doing whatever Don said but not knowing what it was really supposed to look like.....anyway it was crazy. BUT now I am done and I have leather bound my first book ever!!! | |
