So, speaking of 6 hour parties, DANG, we totally had one today. Really it was even more than that--the party started at like 9:53 am when Nieman came over to watch conference at our house. We made some French Toasts, and drank some juice, and had some good times. Conference was so cool today--how awesome was all that sustaining? The answer is Very. My favorite part when in the midst of the list of foreign names of people who were being new area authorities or whatever was one I recognized! It was Faustino Lopez, who is pretty much my hero and the coolest guy in the kingdom of Spain. He taught the religion class for my study abroad last year, and he's basically the most amazing man ever. So anyway that was cool.
So basically we spent the whole day (Becca and Nieman and Kyle and I) setting up for the party and making food and cleaning and making Bagel (our automated reindeer lawn ornament) into a stegosaurus and sewing a dinosaur cape type costume for Toby (Celia's 7 week old miniature weenie dog) and you know, all that basic party stuff.
So then finally we had the Main Party: Becca's Dinosaur Themed Bridal Shower 2008. It was pretty awesome. A lot of cool people came, from home and from the ward etc. We had turkey sandwiches and sweet dream cookies and chocolate rice krispie treats and muddy buddies and Mom's wedding punch, which was my personal favorite part. That party lasted for maybe 2 hours, with opening presents and an awkward "How well does Becca know Kyle" type game (only awkward for Becca, because she kept getting things wrong--I mean, OBVIOUSLY when Kyle was a kid he wanted to be a Kindergarten Cop when he grew up, I mean who DOESN'T know that?)
So by then it was about 8 and Priesthood session had ended, which signalled the beginning of the After Party, which mostly consisted of the men of apartment 8 coming over and eating the remnants of the food and playing "Pin the pterodactyl on the prehistoric jungle scene poster." The Big Surprise Event of that segment of the evening was the arrival of Uncle Scott! Man, that guy just keeps showing up and surprising us all--it's pretty much his Thing. I guess it'll stop being a surprise soon, when he and Nancy actually live here in Provo. It was a pretty nice After Party all in all, which after an hour or two morphed into a Post-After Party Hang Out, which consisted of we happy few sprawling on couches and floors, licking the crumbs out of the muddy buddies bowl and singing the theme song of Land Before Time.
Then it was midnight and the crowd dispersed, and I thought to myself, Holy Crap, it is Saturday, and therefore I have a stats quiz!! And at that point I probably did cry out, Come on, Universe! What gives?!
ps--I'll post pictures tomorrow, I promise.

It is all about the enterance! This time it was perfect, slip in with someone else and wait... UNCLE SCOTT! Ah yes mission accomplished!
It is always fun to visit, and to come when there is a party going on is even better. Next time it will be harder to slip in with Nancy and 4 Kids but just that much more fun!
