Armistice Day

I forgot to mention that today is Armistice Day! Ever since Bec and I took that World War I poetry class, I've been a faithful observer of this holiday. And of all the random things, a couple days ago I found a poppy pin on the ground in the library, like a legitimate one that probably someone bought for a pound either online or on a street corner in London. So I retired my homemade poppy (crayons and a couple layers of computer paper) and wore the new one on my coat to church. And since it was stake conference, which wasn't until 2 in the afternoon, I got to wake up and read some WWI poetry selections. Sometimes I'm a huge nerd like that I guess. Wow, and I wonder why I don't get asked out on dates. Oh well. I'm holding out for a modern Rupert Brooke anyway.

Britts are cool. It is hard enough to stand the thought of us Yanks 6 years after 9/11 and we can hardly sport an American Flag on Patriots Day. The Britts on the other hand still have Poppies and parades for Armistice Day! How cool is that? (At least they did when I was in Bonny Scotland)

You must have some Brittish blood flowing in your veins.

I just found Scars Upon My Heart on my pillow! What a neat/heartbreaking surprise. I'm excited and nervous to read it--how can I not just break down and sob uncontrollably??
