monday monday

Right now I'm working on a creative writign project, which is to write a bunch o' haikus. I was supposed to keep a "haiku notebook" for the past week and you know, write them day by day based off of things that happened and I noticed about the glorious world around me...and so of course I'm sitting here in my chair at the last minute trying to think about ducks and wind and crap to write poems about. Yikes.

International Cinema on Saturday was AWESOME. I keep thinking about Jean de Florette, it was jsut so good! And really just beautiful, you know? The main point of it was really sad, just people being horrible and greedy, but then the scenery was gorgeous and Gerard Depardieu was so amazing and just such a good guy! You know how sometimes there are these characters who you really wish you knew in real life, because they're just so GOOD? Yeah, it was one of those. And the really great thing is that there's a sequel, and it's playing this week, so I can see it probably tomorrow, or more likely on Friday or Saturday!

Um well yeah, I suppose I have nothing else of interest to report. I went grocery shopping today and it was fun--you know how sometimes shopping with a purpose makes you feel empowered and successful and like you have a place in the world? Okay well I guess that's a pretty rare feeling so it may jsut be me, but anyway, that's how it felt today. There were things we needed, and I got them! I guess being at least nominally independent is still a thrill for me! Wonder how long that will last....

...and in closing, please accept this hilarious comic, which I give to you courtesy of marriedtothesea.com, as a small token of my continuing affection.
